BachFest VII is a Big Success!

BachFest, the first concert on the new Music at St. Alban’s concert, was a big success. 10 year old flutist, Lilly Klett, and her teacher, Shirley Gilpin, performed baroque sonatas in the narthex of St. Alban’s as audience members arrived and purchased their tickets. What a cheerful and beautiful addition to the afternoon.  Ensemble Vermillian received a standing ovation for their concert which included sonatas and trio sonatas by Jean-Marie Leclair, a Bach trio sonata, a Toccata by Bach for solo harpsichord and Frances Blaker’s transcription of the Bach aria “Vernugte ruh”. The reception following the concert was festive with wine, cheese, cookies and other snacks served, giving the audience an opportunity to meet and talk with the performers.

This concert kicked off the new “Micro Sponsorship” which allows folks to support the concert series in a fun affordable way. A micro sponsor’s $25 tax-deductible donation provides them the opportunity to dedicate a movement of a piece to a person, pet, or idea of their choice.

Thanks again for your support! If you’d like to help support the series by sponsoring a piece on the next program please send an email inquiry to masabarbara@gmail.com.
